Creative Activities-
- DIY Mother’s Day Cards or Crafts:
Help kids make heartfelt cards, bookmarks, or “coupons” for acts of kindness. - Memory Jar: (We did this and it was awesome!!)
Have children write favorite memories or things they love about their mom and place them in a decorated jar. - Paint Pots & Plant Flowers:
Decorate small flower pots and plant seeds or flowers to give to moms or keep them as a reminder of love growing. - Handprinted Art:
Create handprint flowers, trees, or heart art with paint and paper for keepsake gifts. - Make a “Why We Love Mom” Video:
Record short clips of kids sharing why they love their mom or a maternal figure.
Cooking & Baking Together-
6. Make Breakfast or a Sweet Treat for Mom:
Simple muffins, fruit kabobs, or pancakes shaped like hearts.
7. Decorate Cupcakes or Cookies:
Kids can decorate baked goods with love-themed toppings to gift or share.
8. DIY Tea Party. (Under a blanket fort…lol) Set up a mini tea party with juicy snacks and dress-up fun, either with mom(s) or a host in her honor.

9. Host a “Mini Mother’s Day Party”. Be creative!!
10. Organize a playgroup or a classroom celebration where kids can honor all the “moms” in their lives with songs, cards, and snacks.
11. Do a "Photo Booth Fun" shoot: Set up a little photo booth with props where kids can take pictures “with mom” or send their photo as a gift.
12. Host a “Mother-Child Talent Show” : Encourage kids to perform songs, dances, or jokes with or for their mom. (This is a hoot!)
13. Story Time Featuring “Strong Moms”: Read books that celebrate mothers or female role models and discuss their importance.
Random Acts of Kindness-
14. Initiate a “Kindness Challenge” for Mom: Kids make a list of kind acts they can perform throughout the week (help with chores, hugs, compliments, etc.).
15. Engage in a “Community Giving Project”: Make cards or crafts to give to moms in shelters, hospitals, or retirement homes.
16. Start a “Mom’s Helper” Day: Plan a day where kids take over small tasks to give mom a break — guided by the maternal figure. (My kids used to love this one! )
